Tax Season Extended: May 17th
On Wednesday, March 17, the IRS announced that tax season will be extended to May 17th in consideration of the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 passed on March 11, 2021, which will impact millions of American’s 2020 tax return.
We are still waiting for IRS guidance on how to handle previously filed returns containing unemployment compensation. As of now, the IRS has strongly recommended delaying filing amended returns impacted by the American Rescue Plan Act, as treatment of those returns has not yet been fully defined.
We will continue to provide updates.
