The deadline for filing a timely 2021 individual income tax returns and extensions is Monday, April 18, 2022. The extension extends the deadline for filing the return until October 17, 2022. It does not extend the payment deadline. Payments made on taxes owed after April 18, 2022, are subjected to penalty and interest.
The New York State Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) is accepting applications for child care stabilization grants through the federal American Rescue Plan Act and the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations (CRRSA) Act.
The IRS is still in the process of re-calculating and adjusting any refunds or balances due on returns filed prior to the unemployment income exclusion. Taxpayers do not need to pay the remaining balance of the tax they would have owed prior to the exclusion, and should not file amended returns.
The NYC Small Business Services is relaunching the LMI Store Front Loan program with expansion to include additional neighborhoods through Census Tracts. The purpose of the program is to help businesses in the low to moderate-income communities restart or continue operations impacted by the pandemic.
